Bingeing is the enemy of a dieter

A person, who has trouble controlling his eating habits, will have a weight problem. I had the same problem myself, I would over eat to celebrate, eat when things weren’t going right and drink too much when I was worried about anything.
Bingeing is really just over eating, eating to the point where you are uncomfortable. We need to control those impulses, channel that desirer into something else besides food, drink or tobacco. Those are the three things man craves the most, food, drink and tobacco. All three are addictive. And what’s addictive about food? Well sugar, salt and fats are addictive, namely Trans Fats. Cravings have to be channeled into something like exercise or maybe just walking.
My wife loved snacking and found that the more TV she watched the more food she would eat. So after a meal, she went for a walk. After a good walk, she wasn’t thinking about the TV and wasn’t thinking about snacking. So what happened, she got more exercise and cut her calorie consumption, a positive change that will make a big difference in her health.
I personally like to bike ride after dinner, one is no better than the other, it’s your choice, but just do something besides sitting in front of the TV.
If you’re going to stop over eating, it’s easy, think about what is the trigger that makes you head for the frig, or stop at the drive thru. Avoid those triggers. Why do people start smoking again? They know if they can smoke a cigarette the craving for food will pass. These are people that are desperate to lose weight. They have to lose weight and can’t control their eating. Don’t start smoking just to control an eating habit. It much easier to control an eating habit then a smoking addiction.
They start smoking again because they don’t know any other way to lose weight. If you stopped smoking once you can surely control your eating. Make up your mind that you’re going to take control of your diet. Read some of my past posts and get some ideas about the kind of foods to eat and most important of all the size of the portions you’re eating. Avoid those triggers and walk after a meal. You’ll feel better.
